Myself and 20 other friends on a daytrip to Lisdoonvarna called in here for drinks and music. However one of our party needed to take medicine and asked for water. She was offered sparking water which she cannot take with her medicine so asked for tap water and was refused. One of our party had small amount of water in bottle. As our friend started to take her medicine the bar man and barwoman started shouting abuse at us telling us we couldn’t drink water here.

I don’t want to be at a place that is completely mobbed and noisy, yet I still want to be in the thick of things and nearby to the pubs and activity. I am a young at heart single woman in my mids who enjoys a good time but dislikes too much of a mob.

It’s worth a wander over from Doolin since you’re in the area; it’s just a few minutes away. My friends and I found it just a bit “hokey” a few years back when we visited. And the crowd Cavan : So as the DE, it sounds like you disfavor the Festival and that is good to know. As for country music, I get a lot of that and probably better quality in my home town and my Ireland trip seeks Doolin -type music.

Went down to Lisdoonvarna for the weekend on the 2nd-5th oct it was the second Outing festival in the Hydro hotel. Like last year it was an amazing weekend it is getting better each year so will be booking again for next year. I brought a few friends down and was worried that they wouldn’t enjoy it but all of them had a great time. I can’t praise the organisers enough and the Hydro staff were great so hope to see everyone again next year More.

There’s no restriction other than being over 18 years of age on this inclusive and entertaining twist on an old tradition.
